Turn off the water after you wet your toothbrush.
Pour water in a bigger utensil to clean spoons, cups and other small things, don`t put them directly under open tab, a small spoon may take a class of water to get cleaned, which is definitely waste of water.
Water your lawn only when it needs it. In general, established lawns will survive long dry periods without "sprinkling".
Water during the cool parts of the day. Water before 8 AM or after 8 PM.
Avoid watering on windy days.

Water trees slowly and infrequently to encourage deep rooting - Roots will grow inside to get necessoy resources.
Let grass grow taller in hot, dry weather to shade roots and hold moisture.
Put a layer of mulch around trees and plants to hold moisture.
Use a broom, not a hose, to clean driveways and sidewalks.
Don’t allow the hose to run while washing your car.
Tell your children not to play with the hose and sprinklers.
Check for leaks in pipes, hoses faucets, and couplings.
Check your toilets for leaks. Put a little food coloring in your toilet tank. If, without flushing, the color begins to appear in the bowl, you have a leak that should be repaired immediately.
Take shorter showers.
Install water-saving shower heads or flow restrictors.
Use your dishwasher and washing machine only for full loads.
If you wash dishes by hand, don’t leave the water running for rinsing.
Don’t let the faucet run while you clean vegetables - take water in a pot for cleaning vegetables.
Keep a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator. Running tap water to cool it off for drinking water is wasteful.
